About the Festival

The 24th annual San Antonio Film Festival will take place August 1st-5th!

The main goal of this event is to help budding filmmakers make a name for themselves with one-on-one networking and opportunities for professional advancement. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for rookie directors, writers, and cinematographers to have their creations critiqued by veterans of the industry. This year’s festival will feature the debut of dozens of movies from local filmmakers.

All in all, 120 short films from 24 different countries will be screened at this year’s festival, along with Q&A sessions held throughout the week with leading members of the film industry, such as Michael Jablow, an American Film Institute professor and film editor.

“As a platform for filmmakers to express the full diversity of their cinematic voices, SAFILM provides aspiring and veteran filmmakers the opportunity to present their work in a competitive, energizing environment.”
