Community Involvement

Working annually with a range of nonprofit, public and community-based organizations and businesses, New Balance San Antonio provides services benefiting homeless men, women, children and families, as well as other local businesses throughout the San Antonio area. Community involvement through the 2013 calendar year includes:

  • The Witte Museum  New Balance San Antonio is the Presenting Sponsor of the Witte Museum’s Annual Boot Scoot & 5K Run. The company has also partnered with the museum on programs including shoe drives and fitness initiatives such as Fit Nights and VIP tours of the H-E-B Science Treehouse.
  • Girls on the Run Scholarships – New Balance San Antonio funds scholarships for young girls to use for running activities. In 2012, New Balance San Antonio provided more than $5,500 in scholarships to Girls on the Run.
  • Private School Shoe Program – New Balance San Antonio is currently organizing a program to provide proper athletic shoes to private school children in the San Antonio area. Through this initiative, private school children and their parents will also learn the importance of fitness and foot health.

Owner Rob Kaufman believes in strong, local non-profit partnerships that further enhance the New Balance San Antonio brand and mission. New Balance is proud to support Girls on the Run—a prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop healthy lifestyles through running.
